One can not be surprised... those not beholden to logic have long feared change and doubly so change based on things they do not understand or agree with.

But seeing as society is still alive and kicking, your jest is most apt... they shall have their knee jerk reaction and attempt to justify it morally... logic and reality will continue to move forward despite their fear.

I used to work with a black guy who got offended when he saw the term African-American being tossed around to blanket every black person, especially when it was used to describe him.
He's from Jamaica.

None were deemed exclusive before some PC sensitive folks determined they needed genderless titles.

What about all the other forms ? Won't those same folks get upset ?
You keep saying that this is about PC.

Yet you've never proven it.

You might wanna do that.

Funny I have a friend who is from Trinidad and he said the same thing. He is NOT African American but he does not expect forms to be changed to suit him.

So let me guess this straight. You're of the school of thought that nobody should expect forms to be designed in a given way just so that it suits them, correct?

So... why do you think the form should be unchanged just because it suits you?

I mean, Parent/Parent suits the majority because it fits every possible gender combination.
Mother/Father is exclusive, and has no logical reason to be kept. Your only argument is because you want it that way.

And your friend can check off "OTHER".

Is there an "OTHER" on the passport form for a second mother or father in such a way that does not require the person to alter the originating document?
