What "faith"? We are talking about Pakistan and one of their laws. Pakistan is supposed to be a secular Democracy. Supposedly, it is not a Theology like Iran. We are talking about a law that hands out the death penalty if someone accuses you of saying something that Muslims don't like -- and that’s a pretty broad range of things. EVERY democracy should be calling for an end to such laws.
Pakistan is an Islamic Republic. There is nothing secular about that country. They may SAY secular this or that, but that's simply not the case.
If the pope wants to say that he thinks the law is bad, that's one thing. I don't think it's a good law either, but to call for a REPEAL? LMAO...uh..ok, yea, they're going to listen to the Pope? If he just wants to go on record, then fine, but nobody gives a damn about his opinion....least of all the Pakistani's. And as well they shouldn't.

Pakistan is a democratic parliamentary federal republic with Islam as the state religion. England has a state religion too but we don't see the crushing oppression of minority religions there.
People seem to hold very differnt standards for 'majority rule' on this forum. If it is in America we are expected to bend over backwards to protect the rights of the minority (Majority rule be damned). If it is in another country we just shrug our sholders and say that its their country and they can do what they (the majority) want. We don't care about the minority]s opinion or views at all. Interesting contradiction.
Perhaps the Pope would do well by worrying about the affairs of the Catholic Church. The Pakistani's can take care of themselves. The Vatican has enough problems of it's own without nosing in the business of another faith.
The Pope has already addressed this and condemned it. He still has concernes about the Catholics who are being killed in Muslim countries for practicing their religion. He is speaking up for them.

Pakistan can do whatever Pakistan chooses to do.
They don't have to meet the Pope's, yours or my own requirements.
The US and the catholic church need to clean up their own messes before they open their mouth about anyone else on the planet.

Yet he permitted pedophile priests to abuse children for years.
He knew about them when he was in Regensberg, Germany decades ago.
Clean up his own mess before he looks at others.

I think it's breath wasted on a dead issue for the Pope to condemn anything of Islam.
Probably, but at least he's going on record.
