America wastes billions, turns pot smokers into criminals, and then turns around and taxes 'legal' sellers of pot. How stupid. How about using the billions to house the homeless, or train the jobless? Are there any politicians with any brains at all that can address this idiotic situation?
"Residents of two states voted to legalize marijuana in 2012, but despite an increase in public support for liberalizing drug policy, American police arrested about the same number of people last year on pot-related charges as in 2011."

How about not spending federal monies and balancing the budget. States can do what they want concerning the homeless/jobless, the 10A put that power into the states hands.
They should spend the money wasted busting growers on developing a better strain.
Given that there is a growing majority that supports legalization (whether they partake or not) this is LE's last hoorah, at getting their easy payday for shaking down cannabis users, cultivators and distributors, before they'll have to actually focus on real crimes.
Thank God for the conscious Police Officers with a working brain between their ears that go easy on citizens that are peacefully disobeying unjust laws. I have met many. The rest will blindly follow someone else's orders until the day they die.
The tide has already turned, the momentum is unstoppable.
I will be so happy when federal prohibition of marijuana ends
We're getting there. I'd say 5-10 years. Still too long in my world, because if I had my way, the federal ban would have been repealed like yesterday! However; a growing majority favor legalization, as opposed to in years past. If you asked folks in 1990 if cannabis should be legalized, it was still a resounding no. Not so much today.
