2010 tied with 2005 as the warmest year of the global surface temperature record, according to data released Wednesday by the National Climatic Data Center. Records began in 1880. The Earth's temperature was 1.12 degrees F above the 20th-century average, which was the same as 2005.
Means nothing to me. The earth is getting warmer, has done it throughout history, just like eventually we will get another deepfreeze ice age that would be even more devastating to the planet in terms of life and species lost.
Not sure if I buy their "records" though. Our surface stations are in poor condition with only a small percentage of them meeting the criteria they are supposed to in order to provide accurate readings. The overwhelming majority of them do not meet criteria. I can only imagine how good the stations reporting from other countries are if the US has well over 50% of theirs in poor order.
