I agree. My residential rent rate is up by over 50% just since last year because of the demand. Cut your losses right into a landlord's wallet!

I suggest taking the hit and letting the bank take your house.
It is just a credit score, not worth wasting your life over.
What?? Do you have any validation to that? Here in OK homes for rent are in HIGH demand. You may see one you like and call about it only to learn it's been rented after only being on the market for less than a week.

I've been living (renting) the same 1800 sq. ft 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, 2 car garage for $1050 for four years. The price has never fluctuated and our neighborhood is very quiet and the only crime that has occured in my four years of living there was that one of my neighbor's had patio furniture stolen off of their porch. I guess I'm just lucky.

Not HERE,which is what I wrote...

House prices are now down around what they were in the late 1990's early 2000's....that is a lot of lost value.

Not necessarily the case, you might be lead to believe that and it 'could' happen in some cases but as things are getting worse more and more people will have worse and worse credit scores....

If you're a professional you can't just walk into Walmart and tell them to "give" you any job you're willing to do......they have to offer it to you first, which they won't. Ask all the "over qualified" unemployed trying to get "any job" right now.
