A Union County deputy responded to a complaint about an obscene snowman, and despite disagreeing with the deputy, the snowman maker eventually agreed to remove the offending body parts.

Personally, I think it's funny! People can crack me up. Union, by the way, is a very small town just outside of Spartanburg. It's the county seat of Union County which is located between Spartanburg and York counties in the Upstate of South Carolina. My husband worked there for some time. I would not judge all small Southern towns or South Carolina towns based on Union. Union's big claim to fame, so to speak, is that it is the former home of Susan Smith and the location of the lake where she drowned her sons.

And I bet most people in South Carolina would agree with you about it being funny.
Small town Sheriffs sometimes don't have much to do, I guess, and they go after silly things like this. It's not even as if the guy lives on a quiet residential street. He lives on a highway with traffic probably passing by at 65mph.

LOL Makes you wonder just how big those offensive parts were....

Even though it says highway, it's a very residential road. It's an area outside the old textile mill, so it's mainly old mill houses. In a larger town, it would be considered a residential through street.
It was probably some neighbor that called and once that complaint was made, they really have to do something about it. Yes, I believe most people would think it's funny and just let it go but there's always that one!
