Does that include crimes by illegal aliens or only legal citizens?

One can skew statistics to make their chosen point on almost every issue.

Maddow presents only anecdotal evidence in making her point.

The following provides considerably more substance:

Multiple Victim Public Shootings, Bombings, and Right-to-Carry Concealed Handgun Laws: Contrasting Private and Public Law Enforcement

SSRN-Multiple Victim Public Shootings, Bombings, and Right-to-Carry Concealed Handgun Laws: Contrasting Private and Public Law Enforcement by John Lott, William Landes

The authors conclude that concealed carry laws are the only firearm legislation having significant impact on reducing the number and severity of public mass shootings.

If anyone takes the time to read this (Skip over the statistical analysys) it would be interesting to hear your opinion!

I inherently do not really trust supposed studies done by organizations where I can almost expect the conclusion to be foregone before I even start to read it.

For example, a link given in this thread: States with Higher Gun Ownership and Weak Gun Laws Lead Nation in Gun Death | CommonDreams.org

This study was done by a group calling itself "Violence Policy Center".

The study is cited on a website called Common Dreams dot Org.

Their "About Us" page reads:

CommonDreams.org is a national nonprofit, progressive, nonpartisan citizens' organization founded in 1997 by political activists Craig Brown and his late wife, Lina Newhouser.
We are a powerful online voice for change in America.

We use the latest technology to bring the progressive community together online.
We create political organizing tools and new models for Internet activism.
We publish breaking news from a progressive perspective. And the latest ideas and opinions of some of the world's best progressive writers and activists.

We are writers. Activists.

Sorry, but that doesn't seem like the most objective place to get my insights.

I know this was in jest, but it brings up a good analogy....

If I were a burglar walking down a street of a private residences looking for my next house to break and enter, which one would I choose?:

a) The house with the Volvo wagon sitting in the driveway

b) The house with the Ford Pick-Up truck with a gun rack in the rear window sitting in the driveway
