Default What Federal Cabinet Department Would You Eliminate? Cut?

Being a teacher, I voted Dept of Education. All the education dollars spent on that bureaucracy and its silly regulations would be MUCH better spent on schools and classroom materials.

Exactly.

Education costs keep rising and the results get worse. Doesn't make much sense, does it?

It's is not because of teachers, either.

Can someone tell me why we have a national "Department of Education"?

What is wrong with 50 state departments of education?

If the U.S. DoE disappeared tomorrow what pain would it cause to local schoolkids in your community?
