Of course it is a difficult task with the national redneck association lobby.
By redneck you mean real Americans not so called progressives aka Socialists. You don't like the Constitution and don't like that it will never be changed just to suit the vast minority like you? Leave. Go to another country. America doesn't need you.

Exactly right JJ!

The effectiveness of a gun-control measure can only be measured in terms of whether or not it actually had an impact on crime after it went into effect. England ALWAYS had a lower rate than did the United States. The passing of gun control did nothing at all to lower it. In fact, as you say, since the more restrictive bans, the violent crime rate has risen. Australia is another good example of this.

But oh well, there will always be the Brady Bunch people who will persist, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, that guns are the root of the evil.

I'm sitting this one out, just giving some kind words of encouragement to the OP,based on my experience he will need it!!

The Marine Corps is a hard way to make a living. It would have been a lot easier to have joined the Air Force. They have much better food.
There are over 20,000 gun laws on the books now including federal laws banning posession of firearms by anyone with a criminal or mental record. How many more useless laws would you like? Again: criminals do not obey laws!!!

You loose credibility with me when you make slander remarks like that. There are Americans from all walks of life who champion the 2nd amendment and that includes urban city people if it matters....

If anything thing your slanderous remark reinforces the notion that there are still elitist attitudes out there who given the chance would put themselves in power and control others for the sake of "goodness and harmony for all and the nation". Tyrants always think they are doing the right thing for the long term, just gotta do some "dirty work" and "purge the bad apples" to get there.....

I'm with you in sitting this one out, and, indeed, he will need encouragement.

Sitting out as in not willing to back up the names you claimed a few posts back that you were called in the other thread with links?

Seems you didn't back up much in that other thread with fact either IIRC; but just made outrageous claims showing your complete ignorance of firearms, the laws that apply, and the proven failure of the Clinton AWB.

Do you realize just how stupid that sounds?

The Second amendment will never be repealed because its a cornerstone of our Bill Of Rights. Dont you think if the leftist control freaks could do that instead of just passing illegal laws they would have?
Its much easier to get the sheep in this country, yourself included, to buy into regulation & limitations than it ever will be to get them to accept an honest clear cut attack on our civil rights.

I own one shotgun, which I have only shot once. It is in my closet and only comes out when I clean it. What is your point?

So you took an oath to protect & defend a constitution that you want to dismantle? Very telling indeed.
