And part of that experience was the Democrats having a terrible showing last election.

That part of Cheney's statement is key. The O'men has realized that with his electorate abandoning him, he needs to move towards center if he expects to get any cooperation from Congress or even consider re-election.

HOPE won't work and it's gonna take more CHANGE than he originally thought.
