#2 - Our problem is not a 2nd Amendment problem. It is a law enforcement problem - in that this should be the prime case for the swift administering of the death penalty - so that the punishment is associated with the pain of the crime. Ditto with the Fort Hood shooter.

I believe an important factor in these mass killings where the shooter usually kills himself (as the AZ guy planned to do) is the spread of atheism in America. Today, many people no longer fear eternal consequences for their actions upon this earh because they do not believe in God or that they will face judgement.

Back to the question: I am totally opposed to any infringement of our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

With us it is not the Crims we worry about but the mentally ill.

Or, do you prefer the mentally ill to keep their second amendment rights ?
No matter the risk

The documented mentally ill, don't get 2nd amendment rights, nor do they get 1st amendment rights, and many more amendment rights.

Society does not allow that to exist in public.

Yea exactly...lets make one more thing for the govt. to have control over...Thats all we need...You see how great society has become since the govt. has taken over everything else...Instead of it being a 98 percent socialist country, lets take the one last right a citizen has and make it 100 percent...

Feel free to post some believable documentation supporting your claim that gun control works well in other countries as history doesn't agree with you; Death by "Gun Control"

I prefer to keep my rights. That choice is mine and mine alone. Your wishes and opinion have no bearing on it. If you wish to make a "small sacrifice" and surrender yours that's your choice.

It works well for the governments in other countries, not the people! Wake up!

And what of Switzerland? They have more gun ownership per capita than we do, and yet their crime rate is really low. Compare that to the opposite end of the spectrum with the UK, which has one of the most restrictive gun laws in Europe, and has the lion's share of violent crime in Europe.

Here's another doozie. Phil306 can correct me on this since he has vast experience on this. Most violent gun crime in the U.S. is committed by street gang thugs and many, if not most, if those firearms (mainly pistols) they use either are not registered (acquired on the black market for example), or had their serial numbers scratched off so they can't match ballistics. What does that mean? Registering guns will do sh*t all if the gun is untraceable. And most of the homicides in the U.S. are not committed by jealous husbands or boyfriends killing women or other men, it's street gang members killing their competition and anyone else that get in their way. Organized gangs have easy access to firearms, even in countries where they are highly restricted.

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”

James Madison

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

It is estimated the USA is 24th in the murder rates per capita
the nations ahead and right behind the USA all have gun control.
