WASHINGTON — Welcome to Washington, Tea Partiers.

Now that they're freshmen in a GOP-run House, the political movement's candidates are running smack into the traditions, partisan divisions and powerful competing interests that make it so hard to redirect the government......snipped......

Good article and very true, hopefully everyone will spend a few minutes to read it. It should bring everyone high on the latest win back to earth and to the realization on how Washingtoon really works. It will be an interesting two years, to say the least.

They will put a few things out there that they know won't fly but then say that they tried.

They know that they can't get healthcare repealed but they are going to go through the motions any way.

"House Republicans plan on Wednesday to fulfill a tea party priority: voting to repeal the health care law passed by Democrats last year. The pace and rhetoric of the drive have cooled in recent days because of the shootings in Arizona that severely wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., who supported the new law."

Why don't they just try to work with the democrats and make the healthcare reform that he have better.

Because that's the republican way of not working with the dems, just "NO" everything. They know damn well there is not a chance in hell of repealing healthcare reform, and many have dropped off. All they are doing is giving a stroke job to the base by wasting taxpayer funds and time in congress to actually work on bills.

That's why they were voted in, to say no and to repeal the "healthcare" bill. That, and to bring about greater fiscal responsibility. What's wrong with that?

I am neither a Dem or Rep but I can tell you that the People yelled at the top of their lungs "NO" to the health care bill and the Dems did it anyway. That is exactly why the Rep were sent back to repeal it. Will they keep their campaign promises, probably not, neither party ever does because both parties serve themselves not the People. By the way, since when does the Congress work on anything? They can't even manage to read a bill, let alone work on one.

The democrats still have the house and the presidency, they are the ones running the show, but i'm sure you knew that. Do the right actually think it would pass the senate, let alone obama signing the repeal of his historic health care reform?
It's also been proven fact by financial analysts that repealing health care reform would cost the tax payers substantially.

LOL, ever hear of garbage in garbage out? The CBO scores based on parameters given by Congress. If Congress tells them to score it without the Doc fix, that is what they do and that is why the numbers are bogus.

Thank you for reminding everyone that the disaster that will be the next 2 years is all the responsibility of the Dems.

Since making "it" better is of no concern to the GOP, why should they?
