that's exactly it. And it trumps any humanistic morality you may come up with.
It doesn't change. Your's does.
It is absolute. Your's changes.
I've had lots of Christians tell me the Bible does "look down" on homosexuality and that it is immoral. They tend to quote the Old Testament and talk about Sodom and Gomorrah. I've had lots of Christians tell me the Bible does not "look down" on homosexuality in that it's not address in any meaningful way. They usually say things like the 10 Commandments never mentions it, none of the prophets ever addressed it, Jesus never condemned it, and then go on to explain that the stories of Sodom and Gomorrah have nothing to do with homosexuality whatsoever. I've even had Christians tell me the Bible affirms same-sex relationships. They usually talk about David and Jonathan.
I've been to several gay marriages. All were held in and ordained by a Christian church.
If it's so absolute, why can't Christians even agree on it?
I think over time a person can go downhill in their morality enough that they can. There is example after example of a person that is not gay their whole life but will instead start out hetero but gradually go into it.
Maybe because they were living a lie and couldn't do it any more.

It's amazing the lengths that some people will go to in order to justify their sin. It doesn't mean it's right.
