Everyone's an idiot from time to time. But when you make a written record of your idiocy... well, you probably deserve whatever comes your way.

That was funny! I thought the same thing, wondering who that ONE person would be that said no. You know there will be at least one.

Free market, right-to-work state and last, but not least, "at-will"!

If you are dumb enough to send comments in a company email like that you have to know you risk termination.

[quote=TXTwizter;17477314]There are 2 sides to every story,[quote]

Sometimes there are and sometimes there aren't. This is a case of the latter.

The manager released sent an email forgetting to delete comments which should have never been forwarded to a customer no matter how justified such comments might be as a result the company lost not only the customers but a public bloody nose as a result of the customer broadcasting the email to others. In a business as competitive as the restaurant business is, especially in this economy where managers are a dime a dozen and customers are not, a strong statement had to be made by management.

Whether the gentlemen "deserved" being fired is totally irrelevant.

Not the word. The context. He was ridiculing a customer. The customer is a business' bread and butter. The manager forgot that (or chose to ignore it) and paid the price.

There had to have been a reason why the GM said what he said, whether it be from past experiences with that particular customer or other supposedly "ghetto acting" customers. Inappropriate, no matter what. He brought race into it.
But as usual the race card is being played!! Did you ever think that it might not be because if their color rather than their actions??? Last I checked the term "ghetto" wasnt exclusively a "black thing"....it can also apply to all other races as well. It just happened to be a black person, that made this complaint.

He's the one who made it racist.
He brought color, not behavior, into the discussion.

Do you really think that's appropriate?
Do you think that there are people and that there are black people, as separate entities?

Pretty transparent post.

Yep, I couldn't think of the "at-will" term this morning.
I just woke up and it escaped me.

Thanks!
