The state this occurred in...PA.
No reason is necessary.

No I think 24 is too late, because if the fetus is viable outside the body, then it can be born and maybe it will survive. If the mothers life is at risk, she can just deliver and the risk will be diminished. If she doesn't want it, then she can give it away. But she will NOT be forced to carry it because it is possible to survive at that point.
It is totally her choice to kill it at 24 weeks.

I have a problem when you try to force a woman to carry a fetus they don't want. But I also realize that you have the chance to terminate it the first 6-13 weeks or so of pregnancy and if you fail to act, then you HAVE made your choice by failing to take action.
I have a problem with killing a baby because it is inconvenient.

You asked why people use different terminology in different situations. I pointed out the obvious answer, because the situations are different.

No because I showed you how your logic is flawed. The situations may be different but the baby is still a baby. Do you ask a mother how her fetus is doing? Of course not.

The word fetus was only introduced to remove the guilt of killing a baby in utero.

You couldn't logically answer the question, nor address my example, so you merely bat it away like a pesky fly. Fine..I understand you can't reconclile the quandry, so you say it is irrelevant and ignore.

Okay by me but don't fool yourself, it is quite foolish.

My son was born at 26 weeks, preemie. He's a healthy young man serving in the Navy. After reading this thread...I'm going to go throw up.

I don't understand,if you are unequivocally pro-choice,what difference does it make how the fetus was aborted,as long as it is what the woman wanted????

What part about illegal is difficult for you to understand when it comes to late term abortions?

Does infanticide = murder not compute to you? That is exactly what this charged murderer did after the babies were delivered alive.

It's late term abortion which is MUCH of a difference.

Why?

If you believe it is a woman's body and it is her decision you then can't arbitrarily decide the right to her own body stops at 24 weeks...

Is it because you feel squeamish about aborting a baby that is viable?

unless the doctor is a criminal like the one in the OP, late term abortions are indeed rare, very few doctors preform them, you need two doctors to sign off on it and it is done for medical reason, not because of anti-choice thinking that the woman changed her mind at the last moment!

Why is it up to a Doctor to decide what a woman can do with her own body??
