Its different kinds of racism.

I can't believe someone mentioned the south.
Sure, they mingle more, but the white person may still despise them for the color of their skin.
It was strange. They openly professed to not liking blacks, but mingled with them. They still had manners toward them. I remember a man saying "good morning" to me and my cousin with the confederate flag on the back of his truck.

Now in the north, they may like you,but secretly despise you. Meaning they will have absoolutely no manners whatsover toward you. When they serving you, they don't say "Good Morning" or anything.

Now,I agree,the west is different. I didn't feel it.

But one important thing to remember,is that others can be more racist toward blacks than whites. That's my experience dealing with Asians and hispanics(the bigger threat to blacks, thanks Obama.)
These people take racism on a whole level. They openly discriminate. Throw some lighter skinned blacks in with that category.

So racism is hard to define.

Don't forget Renton, Lakewood, Federal Way, and Tukwila. Also, there is Bryn Marwr-Skyway, Burien, Bremerton, White Center, DuPont, University Place, Firecrest. The Black population is also increasing in places like Lynnwood, Everett, and Mountlake Terrace.

Actually, using Bellevue, WA as an example of anything in the NW (let alone racial diversity), is kinda like going to Baskin & Robbins and never trying anything but vanilla!

So blacks live in a bunch of ghetto areas in Seattle. I can see that in any city. All of the areas that were mentioned are considered lower class areas and neighborhoods. My hometown of Kansas City has a lot of black people living in the ghetto. So I'm not sure how race relations in Seattle are that great. Seems like if you're black and you're born in the ghetto, that's where you'll remain. But then again people in Seattle don't seem like the most ambitious people in the world.

Are you calling some of the suburbs "ghetto"? There are quite a few Blacks living outside of the city of Seattle. Bellevue and Bothell are not the entire Seattle-Everett-Tacoma area.

Love it or hate it, Everett is a suburb, but largely considered ghetto, and lower to mid income level. Did you know that Watts and Compton are also suburbs as well? As well as Chicago south side. So telling me Everett is a suburb, which has a bad reputation of being a low income high crime area, where a lot of blacks live isn't saying much. Compare this to East Coast cities where there are predominantly black and Latino areas that are still perceived as high income areas. Tell me a high income area in Seattle where there are a ton of minorities (who aren't Asian). You won't find them.

Seattle is no different than my home town. Kansas City also appears to be white bred, and as long as you're hanging out in good areas that's all you'll see. Go to the ghetto and it gets much blacker. Seattle doesn't have great race relations, they have racial avoidance. I mean I'm a black man who does well in Seattle, but I didn't even get hired in Seattle. I got hired outside of Seattle and was asked to move here.

Go to any professional workshop around the city, and I'm like 1 of 3 black people there. Go to any corporate office, and it's super white. Seriously the black in Seattle as just ass backwards, ambition lacking peons who are happy with table scraps. I guess they name a county out of Martin Luther King, and blacks decide to have no grind about them. Born in white center, die in white center. Same mentality as Kansas City, which will never go down as an ethnically diverse or tolerant city by any stretch.

But that's the West Coast for you. They're a city full of fake people who refuse to see reality for what it is. But man, I'm getting great experience here, great stuff to take back to the East Coast with me when my contract is up.

After the crap I've dealt with on the East Coast for being black (or not black enough), any one who says the East Coast is great for blacks is instantly discredited in my eyes. Nothing personal.

The only thing that the East Coast and the South is guilty of, is that people are too honest. People are so much about money, and after being in the East Coast and South where people are about money, it just doesn't make any sense to me that people on the West coast aren't all about money. I'm not sure what the people out West is on, but it's certainly nothing productive. So you have to excuse me if I don't see it or get it about the West Coast being so great for minorities.

I mean say what you will about the south, but that white man, he wants to make money first. Now he doesn't have to like your skin color, or where you come from, but you come up to him acting like you can make him some money, he's all ears. He'll scoop you up and hiring you in a New York minute. The thing about West Coast people, they have no sense of business, and no sense of grinding it out. I'm not sure how they plan on making money, but their whole mentality isn't conducive towards making money.

I mean take your average black person from the south or East Coast, then take the average black person from the West. No comparison. Blacks and people on the West Coast are the laziest people I've ever seen. I guess West Coasters are the main ones voting democrat in hopes that the government will give them hand outs. Good job West Coast, keep waiting around for your hand outs, I'm going to go and make my own money and not wait for the government.

I guess people are nicer to blacks on the West Coast. You have all your white and Asian friends. But hey, do you have the same money in your pocket is them, the same good jobs, the same opportunities? Probably not. But hey, you know on the West Coast it's all about being nice and friendly, even though you're broke living in Central District, Tacoma, or Watts. At least people are NICE to you.

I get it why so many minorities are moving go the East. They get sick of the lazy attitudes associated with the west. The anti business, anti capitalist, pro socialist nonsense that's bankrupting your entire coast. They move out East because they realize they have to actually work for a living.

I could possibly stay in Seattle for 3 years. I'm going to drain every bit of money and experience, because I don't know, that's what I do. Keep sitting in Washington, California, and Oregon, while your government overlords be nice to you, promise you your handouts, and try to stranglehold businesses so they will leave the area. You can enjoy your palm trees, lakes and mountains. I'm going to chase the money, because it's leaving your backwards coast. It's moving to Dallas, Atlanta, NY, DC, Chicago, etc. The west coast can be a bunch of broke nice people taxing businesses, and forcing them to leave to greener pastures in the Midwest, and the East.

The mentality of money over race may apply in the South (and at best, the New South states and cities), but let me be clear that my experience applies to the Northeast Corridor from Boston to DC. How many blacks do you see working in lucrative educational and research jobs in Boston? How many blacks do you see in banking and investing positions in NYC? How many blacks do you see working in the well paying industrial jobs in Philadelphia? And how many blacks do you see working in the overpaid lobbying and consulting positions in DC?

And as far as the "blacks run DC and Atlanta" argument, the only kind of blacks who get any advantage are those who play the stereotypical step n' fetch it/retired thug/swaggin ethnic role. And it's hard to say blacks are running any city they're getting gentrified out of, like in DC and Atlanta.

As for denying blacks work opportunity, you can thank the carpetbaggers from the East and Midwest for that. Does anyone care to mention how blacks were more marginalized in SF and LA as the transplant population grew?
