A healthy distrust of the news media is a good thing, too many times they get it wrong because of the competition to be first, or they simply choose not to report something for fear it will damage their favored political party or politician.

One time they tell their audience to be introspective and patient, while they find all the facts before making a statement, another time they jump the shark and report their speculative opinions as a part of the news.

That explains the CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, and ABC viewers as well. Anyone who condemns Fox News while giving a pass to the rest of mainstream media is demonstrating their love for that liberal kool-aid, and their judgment is as equally bad as those who embrace Fox News.

Meh. Most media outlets are private enterprises. They're in the business to make money. They'll target demographics and use marketing strategies that will return the most revenues they can. Whatever political leanings they may be, the media outlets wouldn't exist if there wasn't a viable market for them.

That is very true. However, that was not always the case. Up until 1980 and the advent of cable TV, the news was considered a "public service" by NBC, CBS, and ABC and actually lost money for their respective companies.

All that changed when CNN emerged in 1980 and demonstrated that news can be profitable. The other three broadcasters had no choice but to change their format if they wanted to remain competitive.

Interesting note about how they get their samples:

In targeting our surveys we can select on any of these criteria. For example, we could conduct a survey of only black voters from Cumberland County who are registered Democrats.

I agree FOX is biased, just like any other news organization, but I think the only honest people on FOX are Stossel and Napolitano. Both are the only Libertarians on FOX. The rest are neo-cons

Why anyone would trust a news station, that is owned by a devout critic of democracy and known fascist, is beyond me anyway...

I take great offense to this post. But what else can we expect from "tolerant, loving, open-minded" liberals?

Do you have proof to back up your absurd claims? Who is a fascist on FOX? And how would you know? You live in Denmark for cripe's sake, you don't get FOX over there and they don't stream their programming over the internet

Offensive or not, it is a true statement. After all, how else could an Affirmative Action Community Organizer become President of the United States?
