I wonder if Fox News will do a segment on the Founding Fathers supporting socialized medicine?

This has no bearing AT ALL on mandating the entire piopulation to buy something. Why are you people trying so hard to spin this into something that you can't spin it into? They didn't HAVE to take that job did they? No, they didn't. You don't HAVE to drive a car do you? Nope. As far as this issue being a federal law and auto insurance being a state law, well DUH!!!!!!!!! Maritime business is FEDERAL jurisdiction!

He does if I drive his car. Also, an employer is perfectly free do just that -pay my car insurance as a 'perc' if s/he thought it would entice me to work/continue to work at the firm.

What are you even talking about? You make no sense whatsoever.

If we left paying for health care entirely to individuals the entire health care industry would collapse. Professional and administrative salaries would be cut to fractions of their current levels along with the end of capital spending.

Individuals simply do not have, due primarily flat wages over the last two decades, enough money to afford insurance let alone paying the costs of hospitalization out of their nonexistent savings. The money is simply not there because it was lost in the stock and housing bubbles.

Mandating private citizens to have health insurance has precedent and not only that the Founding Fathers were the first to do it.

And I remind all that a state may compel you to buy auto insurance to drive on State roads. Driving is a privilege not a Right. And the purpose of car insurance is to protect not you, but the people you may injure.

Health insurance protects you, not someone who might catch your cold.

I know that. If you were capable of getting it, you wouldn't be making the arguments you do.

Easy killer. The right-wing's new definition for the government getting involved with health care is socialism.
