Obama could have had a moment to nearly match Ronald Regan's famous "tear down that wall" speech at his press conference with China's Hu Jintao following the state dinner. Obama could have taken that moment to demand the release of the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Liu Xiaobo, from his house arrest. He did not. Instead Obama announced that the US gets to keep the Pandas from China in the National Zoo for another five years.

In Summary:

Pres. Reagan: "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

Pres. Obama: "We have Pandas!"

Maybe because Mr. Reagan's America didn't owe trillions of dollars to Gorbachev's USSR.

And just what will the Chinese do if we just tell them we are never gonna pay on any obligation? Collapse? Get upset? Why should we care? We still have the upper hand on them, and don't need them. We can (and should) rebuild our manufacturing base and tell them to go pound sand.

ps. we don't owe them 'trillions'

Uhhh...the Chinese are helping to finance our spendthrift federal government. If they stop doing this, Obama can kiss his "Hopes and Changes" goodbye.

Agreed, it's the non-stop republican spending which is paid for by chinese loans and private mass corporations that are lining the pockets of politicians that are causing the massive offshoring issues and making communist china the world's next superpower.
