Thank God

You mean socialized democracy like this:

A 949-acre Wisconsin farming operation — in which Bachmann owns up to a quarter-million-dollars interest — collected $47,128 in federal farm subsidies between 2004-2005. That same operation—the Bachmann Farm Family Limited Partnership — has collected as much as $127,868 in federal farm subsidies since the partnership was established in 2001

As I said, I'm an Atheist and I don't hold the same views as Evangelical Christians.

But I don't HATE them or think they are DANGEROUS in any way. In fact, I don't really see anything to fear about their views. Biblical Law??? What's so bad about that? What "Biblical Law" seems "dangerous" to you? The part about not lying or stealing?

Heck, I probably live a more "Christian" life than many who say they are Christian. The Bible teaches good things actually. Where we part is on the whole God thing.

I'm just happy that I have every right to NOT believe.

You worried abortion could get denied? That's never going to happen, the barn door's been open for far too long.

No.....farm subsidies aren't socialism. There were good economic reasons behind those things. Have some people taken advantage of loopholes in those laws, yes. But that's why legislators need to write better laws and foresee unintended consequences in them before passing them.

You are also deliberately changing the topic/reflecting away.

The point was that people who tale office all have views that not all of us agree with. Elections put people in office who the majority of people do agree with.

And even a non-evangelical Christian, your ordinary run of the mill Christian would also think I'm crazy for being an Atheist.

So what?

The question remains...

Why isn't Bachmann denouncing these subsidies? She is proclaiming herself Queen of the Tea Partiers, against wasteful governement spending and handouts and yet I'm sure that she will never take a stand against the funds that wound up in her bank account. She's an attention seeking self-serving whacko that appeals to a bat crap crazy fringe.

Because they hold different views doesn't mean they are crazy.

This is what's wrong in the USA today.

Respecting another's POV has become a lost art.

Keeping in the context and subject of this thread...Bachmann has proven herself to be off the wall time and time again. The Evangelicals sure seem to produce more of these whackadoodles than any other Christian group.

There will be plenty of rebuttals on City-Data. Only difference is Palin and Bachmann can get theirs on TV. Of course, posters here can create their own YouTube response and put the link in a post. Not sure anyone would watch, but I won't be watching any SOTU or rebuttal... other than that by Rep. Paul Ryan, the next President of the U.S.

Do you know the exact TYPE of farm subsidies her farm is receiving?

Not all farm subsidies are wasteful.

They may be paying her not to grow a certain crop because we ave agreements with places like Australia to not flood the market with certain crops.

I don't know what type she's getting, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that it might be valid without the facts.
