I'm not assessing your skills, I'm stating a fact that you are not a doctor and the education level of a nurse, even with your additional training is not equal to that of a doctor.
I'm sorry I didn't get it. Does it have something to do with the neurosurgeon, because that kind of threw me off?
It was an argument upthread. I'm at a computer where I don't have all my bookmarks. When I can get back on that one, I'll post some more stuff about the flu vaccine.
Maybe you didn't, but your buddy did and that's what started the nurse bashing.
Nobody, especially me has done any nurse bashing in this thread. I simply stated a fact, pure and simple.
If someone were to tell me that I'm a great electrical engineer but I'm not equal to a nuclear physicist I wouldn't be offended by that, I'm aware that it takes a lot more educating than I have to achieve that title. For some reason people in the nursing field take great offense to this topic, I tend to believe that it comes from the fact that nurses are sometimes treated badly by doctors and are expected to do a lot of the dirty work that doctors don't want to do and that creates a lot of resentment.
I think that Zimbochick's education is comparable to that which most pediatricians have. Do you know how much time a med student spends studying pediatrics? About 7 weeks. That's it! The pediatric residency is 3 years; the shortest in medicine, along with Family Practice. My DD had to do a vocational project in college; she interviewed a pediatrician and asked "What made you choose pediatrics?" The answer? It is the shortest residency. Ever since then, I"ve wondered about how many go into peds for that very reason. A doctor who doesn't do a peds or family practice residency has 7 weeks total in pediatrics. I had more than that in my nursing curriculum.

If you are such a qualified and working nurse, how do you have so much time to post here?
That is a personal attack and I am not going to respond to it. OTOH, I may report it.
Go right ahead and I might report SEVERAL of the rude, mean comments throughout this thread. With you and 'your buddy'
