A market in political realms to which this one resides must consider the ramifications of the promotion of such a target and that to which may object to it.
Homosexuals by simple mathematics are insignificant in the equation. Obviously more consumers is better, but one most consider the negative attraction of such and that negative attraction should not supersede the positive attraction to such advertisement.
I think when you are buying air time at a rate of $2.5 million per half minute, not to include production cost, I think they've done their home work.

Maybe, maybe not.
Sometimes political motivations drive one to disregard cost. There are many companies and individuals who have made such decisions only to find that their decisions did not support them in their business venture.
As I said, simple mathematics show that the homosexual population is insignificant in relation to the general populace. Now I understand a company wanting to pick up that of the smaller market, but to do so at the cost of its larger market is not business, but some other interest driving it. One does not alienate its larger market to catch a smaller market, especially when the result can possibly lead to a reduction in their larger market that far outweighs the market they seek.
As I said, this move seems more political than it does business focused as there are far better ways to pick up the smaller markets without alienating the larger ones. It stinks of political positioning and motive. /shrug
I gotta admit I was a bit "icked" out by it. I can't really even tell you why because I have friends that are gay and family members but I just didn't like them. I have some soul searching to do because I didn't think I would feel that way. I am gonna show them to my hubby and see what his thoughts are but I am not going to tell him what they are just that they are commercials for the super bowl.
Disgusting and short-sighted of FL to even try to foist this on customers. I'll not be serving any at my SB party nor buying any in the future.
Where's that barfing smiley?
Sell, sell, sell! Sell you're Frito-Lay stock now! There will be no Doritos this year at Workin_Hard's party
