Past & Present.

When do you think(you might know) the USA's worst economic plunder and drop into depression was recorded?

All I need is a date and a few numbers, from the historians here.

GDP comparisons, unemployment, you know those things.

So we can compared economic drops in the US.

Are you asking for a one-dimensional argument, or atleast two? Because abrupt drop is one thing, and sustained (but not as abrupt) drop is another, with latter having a better chance of being more destructive. To make my point better, it would be wrong to assume that a 9.0 earthquake would be more destructive than a 6.0 earthquake, even considering the same location.

I'm going for the who has knowledge, theory.

Ever recorded, not post WW-II

Google works fine, did you use yours to find out? Did you educate yourself? Enlightening isn't it. Not what you thought was it.
That is the answer to your question.

I'll give a hint. It happened at the very beginning of the Progressive Era.

Are you talking about economic plunder or economic blunder?

The title of your thread and and the language of your post suggest that you already have an answer you like.

Here's a better hint: the progressive era was a reaction to the economic devastation of the robber baron era.

Another hint: it was labeled in modern history as a recession, because it lasted less than 3 years.
