Hit the search function on this board and you will see plenty of exchanges. It is my opinion, and you don't need to share it.

My premise from numerous posts is that as aging boomers, who have been undertaxed since at least 1980, and who have benefited their whole lives from the educational, infrastructural, and social commitments of the Greatest Generation, and who by their sheer numbers, will bankrupt SSN, medicare and the medicaide, the TPers incessant calls for tax cutting and hobbling the government during their last years of economic contribution seem tremendously selfish. Hardly Patriotic, and usually just plain dumb. The incessant victimhood coming from most posts is sickening. I hate taxes too, but I love this country, and since there are so many of us who will place a great burden on future society, generosity is the patriotic response. Whining about taxes is just that. Enough said.

There was a great line in "How to train your Dragon."

"It's not how you look, but what's inside that he can't stand...."

Not interested in reading what others on here have ranted and railed in the past. I presumed you were basing your post on media information.

Undertaxed aging boomers? The government is swollen like a pig ready for slaughter. The waste of the government and the growth of it is retarded at best. A well sharpened red edit pen to the federal budget would be the preferred method of the TPers. There have been more Boomers than any other generation in history and we've wrought the greatest advances in all elements of society, worldwide. What we didn't do is manage the size and scope of our government, but we're about to.

The dismantling of all the fluff and waste and an adherence to the style of life our parents used to maintain their lifestyles is something we should all embrace and it's going to be basic nature within 5 years.

It seems you've had some scholastic brainwashing. All the worse for our wonderful country. Something else that needs serious tending to. The dismantling of the serious overreach of the left in our educational system.

Here we go again.......more racial trolling. Did it ever occur to people that the color of Obamas skin has NOTHING to do with why we don't want him as POTUS???? His policies, his ties to radicals like Rev Wright, etc, his Missing birth certificate, and his determination to force us into Socialism is the reason why I don't want him as our President.
Wasn't Obama raised by his WHITE grandmother??? He IS HALF white!! Therefore this whole "Black President" BS is just that, BULLS*IT!

My point in resurrecting this old article is that, like Dr. Sowell,
I have no problem with a black President; just not this guy.

An Old Newness - Thomas Sowell - National Review Online

An Old Newness
Obama is a hit with the media, but electing him would be a grave error.

Many years ago, a great hitter named Paul Waner was nearing the end of his long career. He entered a ballgame with 2,999 hits — one hit away from the 3,000-hit landmark — which so many hitters want to reach, but which relatively few actually do reach.

Waner hit a ball that the fielder did not handle cleanly but the official scorer called it a hit, making it Waner’s 3,000th. Paul Waner then sent word to the official scorer that he did not want that questionable hit to be the one that put him over the top.

The official scorer reversed himself and called it an error. Later Paul Waner got a clean hit for number 3,000.

What reminded me of this is the great fervor that many seem to feel over the prospect of the first black president of the United States.
No doubt it is only a matter of time before there is a black president, just as it was only a matter of time before Paul Waner got his 3,000th hit. The issue is whether we want to reach that landmark so badly that we are willing to overlook how questionably that landmark is reached.

Paul Waner had too much pride to accept a scratch hit. Choosing a president of the United States is a lot more momentous than a baseball record. We the voters need to have far more concern about who we put in that office that holds the destiny of a nation and of generations yet unborn.

There is no reason why someone as arrogant, foolishly clever, and ultimately dangerous as Barack Obama should become president — especially not at a time when the threat of international terrorists with nuclear weapons looms over 300 million Americans...
