some pro football (never heard any cuss words from the tv though)

I used to be the publicist and marketing manager for our local coliseum and do admit the hockey games could get crazy, but I never stayed beyond my media requirements.
Every once in a while my TV slips and out comes a cuss word. Seriously at no provocation.

No its very likely. You can pretend all day long they dont hear whats being said just because they are playing with a toy. Do you hear whats being said on the tv if you are doing something else in the room? Or do you think because you are say in the kitchen cooking that means you dont also hear the tv.
I know a 7 year old that also was not allowed to watch csi but they can just about tell you line for line the shows during reruns because they were playing in the room while mommy was watching it.

I don't usually watch TV while I'm in the kitchen; nor is it on when I'm cooking. We eat with it off - b/c that's family time. But, I'm sure you'll find something wrong with that as well, so let me have it!

Hearing and listening are two different things.
Hearing is any sound at the moment that you don't necessarily have to be paying attention to.
Listening is actually paying attention to what you are hearing.
I'm not pushing everyone to try and think as I - but if someone asks me why I think a certain way you can definitely count on me defending myself. Where have I said people should believe what I say?
