We were forced to have our meter upgraded 6 months ago and since then the entire family has been suffering from headaches. Our overall health seem's to be declining and I'm wondering if it's from this thing. Our meter sits in the back of the house just 6 feet from my bed. I'm a bit concerned.

The only headache I've suffered is the increase in my electric bill. But I've only had the new meter one month so maybe that was because of the Christmas lights.

Our bills seem a tad higher as well. By that article there seems to a wide consensus that they may be off a bit, and of course, on the high side.

Get yourself an electromagnetometer and start taking measurements of the amount of EM radiation leaking off of the meter and in and around your home.

I had an older relative with a CB and there's a story that might help, considering they output a great deal more power. Every time some one he a put up a new CB antenna some people who could see it would come by complaining about headaches, fatigue, flu like symptoms and such. It was common practice to walk people back and show them that the antenna wasn't hooked to anything.

CBers always hook up the radio at least 2 weeks after putting the antenna up because people have some sort of subconscious mental issue with "radio waves". Seriously, get over it and move on with your life...everyone will be happier.

I wouldn't advise sleeping under one, but they should be safe.

I got my first generation smart meter and my bill doubled, I got my 2nd generation meter and my bill was only $100.00 more than the already inflated bill so yes they will give you a killer headache and pain in the wallet.
