We should stay out of it all together at this point, both in opinion and financially. Cut off all aid until we see what they will become.

If a new government does come out of this, what will happen to the copts? Will they go in the same direction as the Armenian christians did during the Ottoman Empire?

As other's mentioned above, we know where a revolt starts, but never where it ends. Egypt has a complex society and the situation is complicated:
1) When they say "democratic revolution" does that include also non democratic regimes which hold power and never go away?
2) Deep poverty and corruption in Egypt weren't invented by Mubarak. Some protestors were holding Nasser's picture, but during Nasser's regime, there was no less poverty and corruption. Go figure.
3) When anti Shah's protests broke 30+ years ago, they were led by a hodgepodge of activists, many with good intentions. Among them - democrats, liberals, communists, socialists, intellectuals. Haven't heard much of Iran's communists in the last 30 years... anyone heard anything about?
