He includes the meetings and the protests from psychiatrists within the APA as well as prostest from gay activists outside the APA and the scientific evidence on which the decision was based.

You're missing out on the entirety of the process. Yes, you vote...but it's not as if the vote is baseless and arbitrary. It's usually voted after a review of the data.

So, it's not as if they decided all of the sudden to take a vote.

I don't think that you've had much exposure to higher level science.

That quote comes from Dr. Laura, and was supposedly written in a letter to her from a physician. Not exactly a great source.

i cant add any more. well just one thing.

only on the day that we dont have people (or posters) questioning (or restricting) someones ability to effectively perform their duties (as a judge, APA board member, parent, teacher, etc) because of their sexuality, race or other perceived difference will we be able to forego any other added descriptor.
til then, this announcement serves as a reminder that gay people ARE just as qualified as any other individual.
this flys in the face of those who would prefer gay people not hold these positons.
and it serves as hope for that young homosexual kid who believes what society tells them about those evil perverted gays.
