One was civil unrest and one was a natural disaster but the end results were the same.
I worked the '92 riots as an LAPD cop. I doubt even 5% of the people that were unexpectedly caught up in the chaos were prepared for what they were faced with.

Bad as it was it was just a bump in the road compared to a nationwide crisis. We were able to call on help from outside the area and were still barely able to cope with things. I'd hate to think of how bad it would have been had no help from outside been available.

My guess is that it would be pretty easy to tell who spent some of their money on other metals such as lead, brass, copper and blued steel. That will spend much better too.

Very true.

It has happened to us because of snow.

I keep some powered milk in the emergency cabinet now.

Keep clinging to those beliefs. It would be a shame to let reality intrude on your partisan prejudices.

Don't hold your breath. FB is more about the drive by would be clever one liners than anything of substance.

How many cat. 4 or higher hurricanes have you been through (directly impacted) in FL and are you suggesting you do absolutely nothing to be prepared in advance?

Massive solar flares could disable the grid for months, if not years. Without electricity western civilization comes to a halt and chaos follows.
