I find that very telling... Given the financial crisis we're in...

Wow, that was some weekend!

Y'all watch too much TV if you think you can just walk in and withdraw that much money.

But the Clampetts were constantly going down to the Commerce Bank in Beverly Hills and demanding their millions in cash from Mr. Drysdale. One time he actually brought one million to Jed's home to show him what $1 million looked like. Jed's response was "Where is the other $45 million?".

No kidding. Most have a cash withdrawl limit of under $10K if you walk in and try to cash a check.

So unaware of basic banking policy she tried to cash a 30k check.... sounds more telling about how informed the average consumer is than about the economic status of anything.

Well, in defense of us 'average consumers' we don't often find ourselves cashing $30k checks. I really wish I had the problem of having to call ahead to cash my paycheck because it was so large.

Poor Charlie, he gets such a bum rap. Now, I am not defending his abusive ways, but if he wants to spend his money on drugs and prostitutes, it *is* his money.

I have went to a smaller branch to get cash and they could not do it.

If you call ahead they will have the money there.

Wife works for a local CU. She tells me this is the case. They wouldn't be able to cash a $30k either without enough advance notice.
