It's not Orwellian. It's not double speak. It certainly predates any one country's political figurehead who's taken up the cause in recent years. I was learning about the science of this process in college long before Al Gore ever said anything. It's simply what scientists have literally known for decades - IF global warming were to occur, it would result in more extreme weather patterns, more snow in some places / times, and more extreme heat in other places / times, more extreme cold others.

That may sound like a cop out if you think warming always means warmer everywhere, but more extreme weather patterns were a well known potential outcome of this long before it became political. It's a more complicated process than you all seem to accept.
why did al never mention increasing cold and snow in his ridiculous 'documentary'?

UN IPCC 2007: 'More warm and fewer cold nights...fewer frost days...fewer cold outbreaks; fewer, shorter, less intense cold spells/cold extremes in winter'

NASA's James Hansen in 2008: Warm UK winters 'are a clear sign that the climate is changing'

certainly sounds like double-speak to me.

150 years of data for a 4.5 billion year old planet. YEAH....now that'll convince me Al!

We are still coming out of an ice age, but leave it to the Dems to find a way to tax people on natural Earth changes. Doesn't this cold weather just make you want to dig deep into your pockets, and purchase some carbon credits?

And you all global warming worshipers will use anything as proof of global warming. If it snows its GW, if its hot it GW, if it rains its GW, if its dry its GW. And people actually buy that garbarge.

It's been particualry cold in my area this year. We are also getting record amounts of snowfall. Explain please?
Explanations are useless until the naysayers learn the difference between global/local, climate/weather, long term trend/current conditions.

Long before Al Gore made his slideshow, scientists knew that global warming would bring more snowfall to certain parts of the world. It's pretty simple: warmer temperatures mean more moisture in the air which means more snow when that moisture reaches areas with below freezing temps.

You all really come off as rather uniforned on this subject when you try to dismiss global warming because there's more snow, when in fact it just reinforces it.
See heres the deal, lets just pretend that you all are right and there really is man made global warming..............75% of the country is having record freezing cold frigid snow, it aint just the "right wingers" that aren't buying whether its real or not.

Long term trend equals what exactly? 150 years? Out of 4.5 billion?

No thanks, i'll pass. Global Warming Scientists rank up there in the Obama Category for narcissism if they think "they" have the answers.

And what answers do you have?

Are you one of those who deny man can affect atmospheric conditions?

Anyone who ever drove thru the pre-emission controls LA Basin would say otherwise.

At least you're willing to admit the earth's more than 6,000 years old

Sink those heels in!

Believe it or not...climate happens everywhere, not just where you wish it to be.
