If voters are asked simply repeal or don't repeal, it comes out in favor of repeal. If they ask more questions that give a much clearer picture of where the public is at, the polls completely shift--most people want changes instead. That's what they're working on. I don't think the HCR reform bill is perfect by a long shot, but the old system is completely broken. At any rate, it doesn't really matter, because it's headed to the SCOTUS.

EDIT--you're forgetting--some of the repeal supporters think the bill doesn't go FAR ENOUGH.

So even the DEMOCRAT'S own poll shows the majority wants rid of this disastrous ObamaCare!!

Right so far

So if they nuance the questions to skew it towards supporting it, they get the expected results.

The problem for Dems is that they passed the mess that is ObamaCare and didn't care to LISTEN to exactly what the PEOPLE wanted.

Had they done that in the first place, the people would have gotten the tweaks and changes they wanted WITHOUT this trainwreck Dems passed over the OBJECTIONS of the people.

Remember those TownHall Meetings where Dems were being shouted down? Remember the Townhall Meetings that so many Dems canceled?

Remember Pelosi saying we'd have to pass the Bill so we can know what's in it?

WHAT? The Dems aren't working on making any changes to ObamaCare????

you just made my point. Rasmussen didn't ask indepth questions, and when those questions were asked in the Democracy Corp polling, most people support the provisions of the bill. The repeal vote is because many democratic voters wanted single payer--not what we have now.

Yup.....elections have consequences.

No ONLY did the Dems get hammered on the Federal level, but they ALSO got hammered on the State level.

Actually, I didn't unless you want to attempt to SPIN the polls.

You say that as if you KNOW what questions were asked.

So now...tell me exactly how those two polls phrased their questions.

Wow...that is really desperation speaking there!!!

You remind me of desperate Dirty Harry....

Quote:
Reid tries to claim that he is not bringing it up because it has no chance of passing the Senate which has a small Democratic majority, but with 23 Democratic Senators up for reelection in 2012, that is debatable.
Reid’s office rejected the idea.

“Not only would repeal not pass, but according to a poll by AP over the weekend, three out of four people don’t want it to,” Reid spokesman Jon Summers said. “Why? Because full repeal means raising taxes on small businesses, reopening the Medicare donut hole, and putting insurance companies back in charge of your health care.”
Polling evidence actually shows that the majority of Americans are still opposed and the AP poll Reid is quick to mention is the only outlier claiming otherwise.

Recent polling:

Bloomberg finds 55 percent opposed with only 40 percent in favor of Obamacare.

ABC News/Washington Post finds 52 percent opposed with only 43 percent in favor of Obamacare.

CNN/Opinion Research shows 50 percent opposed with only 42 percent in favor of Obamacare.

Rasmussen shows 55 percent opposed with only 40 percent in favor of Obamacare.

Reid's cherry picking of one single outlier shows the desperation and fear he has of allowing a straight vote in the Senate, which would force Democratic Senators to publicly go up against the majority of Americans or pass the repeal law which would force Obama to veto it as he has already said he would.

Of course we know if it ever came to a VOTE, the dems would hold together, but yesterday's vote I believe was a filibuster by the dems to prevent it from coming to a vote.

This is all good, the GOP has fulfilled the pledge and the voters know it is obama and the dems refusing to bow to the will of the people, even after the law has been struck down as unconstitutional. This is all good, will make GREAT campaign material.
