The planet has been warming since the last ice age, which was 100,000 years ago, thereabouts. Ice a mile thick sat over Chicago back then. Now, there is a Northwest Passage during the summer. The indisputable fact that ice melts when its warm should tell anyone the trend in global temperature over the last 100,000 years.
However, the Industrial Revolution began in the 18th century, say 300 years ago. That is 0.3 % of the length of the period of warming. That makes it awful hard in my eyes to argue for man-made warming.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for green technology, energy conservation, and converting to renewable energy. I support it because of the efficiency aspect of the policy, not because it will reverse global warming. I'm afraid that is up to Mother Nature.
If anyone still believes that we should pay tax because our carbon is warming the earth should see a doctor .
I hate pollution , I pick up when trash that others drop. I talk to people about dumping down the storm drains , I show them where it goes . I say it nicely , they listen . My tiny car gets 40mpg . I like clean air , clean water .
Pollution does not heat the earth , my God , don't be stupid.
