Must everythat displeases you be deemed "politically correct?" Talk about trite! This society has plenty of winners and losers....and no one seems to be afraid of pointing it out. So i don't see where political correctness is relevant here.

We are teaching children and have a large group of people that if you are a " loser" its the job of the rich to make you not one. Its not your job to pull up your boots and improve your life but its someone elses job IE the rich or gov

Homelessness including with veterans is mostly due to drug abuse. The non addicted ones want and get help.

And F those who don't like chest thumpers because if you don't stand for something you are going to be nothing.

Being patriotic is the same as supporting your "team". You will defend them and cheer for them vehemently. You can still see when they are wrong or not doing as well as they could, but you still stand behind them.

This is what patriotism is.

I also feel that it is unpatriotic to fly another nations' flag in our country. You come to this country because it is better than where you came from. Fly the flag of the country that is making you a better person.

Also, homeless vets aren't always drug abusers. It is sick to see homeless vets. They should be the top priority of ours. After all, it is because of them that we can have people on here bashing them the way they do.

What in the world does tha have to do with patriotism? I understand your point that many rural areas are given major government redistribution to support industries such as farming and higher per capita levels of welfare distribution, but such areas still rank amongst the most patriotic. There's really no correlation.

When every kid in a school event gets a prize whether they won, lost or even made an effort yes, that is a failure of the political correctness that is destroying this country! Since when is it offensive for an American to be proud or patriotic about the US?

There's a difference between being proud of your country and assuming it's inherently superior to all other countries. The latter is very, very subjective and dependent upon personal taste, just like whether someone prefers big city, suburban, small town, or rural living.

Our education system sucks, our healthcare system kills 45,000 people a year because they don't have insurance, and we have homeless people in the richest country in the world.

I love my country, I want to make it better. But when you tell some people that, they look at you like you're a communist.

IMO, too many people want Utopia and just isn't going to happen.

Nothing is perfect. Improvements can always be made.

I don't like generalities. When you speak of schools you have to be more specific.

Grades 1 thru 12, we have some great schools and we have some terrible schools. depends where you live.

Our colleges attract student from all over the world.

We have the finest health care in the world. Again people from all over the world come here for treatment. With a population of over 308 million and growing the percentages aren't too bad. You want Universal Health Care. I understand that. Look at the stats from some of those countries that do have UHC and compare them with ours.

Here are some.
A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very
interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations
International Health Organization.

Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years
after diagnosis:

U.S. 65%

England 46%

Canada 42%

Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received
treatment within six months:

U.S. 93%

England 15%

Canada 43%

Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it
within six months:

U.S. 90%

England 15%

Canada 43%

Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within
one month:

U.S. 77%

England 40%

Canada 43%

Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:

U.S. 71

England 14

Canada 18

Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in
"excellent health":

U.S. 12%

England 2%

Canada 6%

I don't know about you, but I don't want "Universal Healthcare"
comparable to England or Canada.

There have always been and there always will be homeless people. just a fact of life. In a free society we allow people to succeed and to fail.

I'm proud to be an American, just like I'm proud to be a woman and proud to be black and proud to be all the other things that I am.

The problem with that is that a lot of people confuse being proud of who you are with thinking you're better than other people. I try to teach my son that you can be proud of yourself without putting others down.
