You start with a soul. That soul wanted to inhabit life. So the soul looks at all the possible ways that you can put the universe together and sees the way that contains the possibly of life. The soul looks at all the times the universe started and ended with out life and sees the time that life happened. As the first cell formed the soul inhabited it. As that first cell divided the soul filled each new cell completely.
As the cells divided and divided and reproduced there was evolution. As life developed more complexity the soul that inhabits all life developed more complexity for fill each new life form. So in my world view we are all interconnected because we all share the same soul that permeates the web of life.
