Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Hilarious. Don't take that argument on the road!
I don't think I'd get too cocky on this...the R's cant seem to come to any kind of agreement on budget cuts, let along follow through, and suddenly an abortion amendment that they know isn't going anywhere seems to be their biggest legislative priority. On a local level and state level, with the newly elected tea party folks, they're passing birther bills, etc...not exactly a laser beam focused on the economy. It works for the hard R base, but it sure doesn't play to the moderate swing voters they pulled in last time, and again, those are the folks who win elections.
I also love it when Libs suddenly act as if they cared at all about the economy, jobs, and the deficit AFTER they get their collective butts kicked.
They had control of Congress since 2006 and the White House since 2008 and twittered away the time with a Health Care law that the public hates and acted as if it was an emergency before Christmas to make a tax cut deal they knew was coming for 8 years.
Wasn't it Obama's administration that was supposed to have a laser like focus on jobs and the economy? Wasn't it Obama who said he'd go through every piece of legislation line by line to eliminate waste? That's not mentioning "shovel-ready jobs" or "transparency" like putting all HC debates on C-Span and every bill online for the public to read before a vote.
Oh...one of the best....when it got down to crunch time on the tax cuts, they actually had to say that if it didn't pass, even the middle class would lose their tax cuts. You know, the ones they said were ONLY for the rich for the last 10 years???

Let's talk about the R plan--cut $100 billion from the deficit!!! ...er or $50 billion?...or um...$35 billion? Right.
I could care who gets it done, but somebody in this country needs to start focusing on private sector job creation. Instead, we've spent the last month in the house voting on repealing heath care reform (when they knew it wouldn't pass the Senate) and voting on restricting abortion rights in HCR (when they know it won't get past the Senate).
Joe Strauss, is a progressive with an R by his name.
He is not worthy.
