Ford is making profit right now with UAW workers.

Yes, Seems I remember Ford opening a 'New' Plant
in Mexico back in '79 or '80 as the Escort was hitting
the market as the "World Car" for 1981

In fact it seems like it was the GOVERNMENT who mandated
back in 1969 that auto companies have certain things
on vehicles that led to the crappy vehicles of the '80's
and in 1985 the low rate finance was the nail in the coffin
so in other words the car companies did themselves in
with government direction.

This time, with the Obama administration's temporary assistance and expediance in moving the transitions along, the auto companies have reemerged with far stronger products, far leaner and more competitive business models, and far more realistic and competitive relationships with the unions.

So... that's what good leadership can do

As long as Ford continues to make profits, put good cars on the road, and creates jobs in the US...then I am happy for their overseas plants.

There are many cars still made in the US. All auto makers (even the US ones) have cars made in other countries. Just buy the models made here. Heck, you can buy BMWs made in the US. My caddy was made in Detroit. Two of my kids have Fords made in the US. As soon as they are made overseas, I will stop buying them and will get a different car made in the US.

They're being pushed out by the unions. Blame them for demanding salaries on par with college degreed professionals for line work, not Ford.
LMAO!!

In the late 1940's a corporate executive earned about five times what a carpenter earned. By the 1970's that figure had grown to about thirty times as much. Just for your information last year a successful CEO earned about 500 times as much as an ordinary worker. The wealthy are controlling everything that goes on in this country and their kids don't even have to go and fight in the "wars of choice" that their buddies in the congress get us involved in. This country has turned into a corrupt conspiricy where politicians take millions from corporations to get re-elected and when a bill is being debated in the capitol building ordinary Americans are the only ones not represented.

No they didn't, that plant has been there for the better part of a century. Heck, AFAIK it's the oldest Ford plant that's still open.

Actually that engine was built by International. The 460 Ford is the very best truck engine though.
