Multiculturalism is a failed liberal experiment that basically says to immigrants (the unintended consequence), "Hey you can come live here, but just be yourselves. It's ok to be different!" Lot of people would take that to mean that the immigrant is not welcome to be British, in this case
Every experiment has negative disadvantages. Multiculturalism is sometimes very cool though e.g., Oktoberfest, etc.

Folks are getting along pretty decently last time I checked.
Besides the criticism itself isn't the "multiculturalism" -- it's religious extremism.
Exactly and you will find places where people of different cultures and backgrounds get along better than places where there is just one culture or race.
Cameron is talking manure, just to appease the mail reading section of the tory support base. No one under 35 thinks otherwise because we all mix with each other. Hell my last two girlfriends were philipina and malaysian.

The U.S. and Canada have done a much better job of incorporating newcomers than Western Europe, but still, we can learn a few things from them about what not to do.
