Under national socialism, there is little freedom.
One must get government permission (license) and / or pay a tax to:
live, work, buy, sell, own, inherit, endow, travel, transmit, fly, drive, build a house, trade medical care, hunt, fish, marry, operate a business, enter occupations, and own a dog.

Emergency Powers Statutes, Senate Report SR 93-549, November 19, 1973
Senate Report 93-549
War and Emergency Powers Acts

"A majority of the people of the United States have lived all of their lives under emergency rule. For 40 years (1933-1973), freedoms and governmental procedures guaranteed by the Constitution have, in varying degrees, been abridged by laws brought into force by states of national emergency."
Most Americans have lived their entire lives under EMERGENCY RULES that abridge FREEDOMS guaranteed by the USCON... (Yes, they TOOK AWAY our FREEDOMS, and have the arrogance to invade Asian nations to "preserve Freedom"!).
What country on the globe is really FREE?

In the true sense of the word, no country is "free".

In some countries, the very disparaging comments people make about the president on this forum would be considered a legitimate crime. In America, we can say whatever the hell we want about the president with no fear of being tied up and taken away in the middle of the night.

In some states you actually can get marijuana for a chronic pain condition. This is not such a taboo thing these days and in fact, is becoming quite normalized in several states. Hell, there are some states where I could probably get a prescription for mj due to pms cramps. Really, its becoming less of an issue. Thank god.

Since you can make disparaging comments about your leader in the majority of countries on the earth, I'd say that does not make the USA any more special than any other.

Not only countries, but even tribal societies aren't "free". There is a lot they put on individual members for the benefit of being part of the group. It works because humans, are social animals and have a great desire to "belong". You can see this with kids as young as 2-3 years old.

The people who insulted the OP deserve to be deported as far as I'm concerned. If they are SO proud of their country, they wouldn't insult demean and laugh at a person who correctly sees that there's room for improvement in this country.

While I understand and perhaps agree in part with the OP, I will stay in this country and work to improve it myself. Unlike these right wing uber-patriotic militant American "Don't let the flag touch the ground!" idiots do, I won't disparage anyone for wanting something better and I certainly won't let the door hit them on the way out. It CAN be found, it CAN be done. Why? Because these same idiots are resting on their laurels, satisfied in their arrogance, and careless in their sense of exceptionalism. Not once are they bothering to check that they're being left behind and that others are busily managing to surpass them.
