I don't think the administration gets the credit for democracy in Egypt. However, if we do wind up helping to hold the transitional government together to make sure democratic elections even happen, he's going to deserve some praise.

I shook my plastic 8 ball from Walmart and it said, "Maybe". You must have the plastic 8 ball version 2.5 or something, I really need to upgrade.

There is a book called "Inside Egypt" that pretty much predicted exactly how this would go and when that came out in 2008. I guess the glaring flaw is that it didn't include the fact that one speech from Obama would have the power to change the middle east forever...

Will Obama get the same honor if the Muslim Brotherhood wins out?

Right, only 'civilized' folks of certain pursuasions are capable of democracy. Not them savages...

If you think deposiing the Shah of Eypgt is bringing democracy, you are delusional. We've been down this road before, in Iran and last time I checked (admittedly over 24 hours ago), they and anything BUT democracy.

Egyptions have just lept from the fring pan, and will be deposited, in a few months,, direcxtly into the fire - not, IIMHO, an improvement, and certainly NOT liberation.

Since Americans embrace the Imperial Presidency, yes. The President is responsible for all the credit and all the blame, depending on which way the wind is blowing that day.
