Please define "progressive" and trace it's movement in the U.S. When did it start and in response to what? What specifically bad things has it done and what good things if any? Specifically, why are TR and WW reviled as progressives? What specifically do you see as alternatives to actions they took? I am very uncomfortable when words like this are tossed around without definition or context.

Does it really matter? Various people like myself have listed their own personal goals numerous times and those who wish to discredit or ignore what needs to take place just act as if they were listed. How many times will liberals claim that nobody knows what the Tea Party stands for while every Tea Party members around explains it to them?

Or, more likely, real lambs being led to real slaughter. Mubarak kept the slammer hordes at bay, and not it will be Mo, bar the door, twill be beheaded bodies on the floor, all you Coptics, breath no more, there will be no Democracy to restore.

But of course, when the wheels fall off of this wagon, you'll blame, either W, Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman, if not all three.

That is a very general statement. Specifically, what steps do you propose to achieve it?

Let me explain how this plays out...

I say "work to eliminate debt" then you counter with "yeah and we see how well Republicans are doing right now" when in reality Reps aren't Tea Party members and even some of the Tea Party supported people that won in 2010 weren't true members but were better than any Democrat.

I say "to eliminate social programs" to which you counter with "but what about all those socialist programs like Social Security and Welfare which people rely on". People rely on them because they're around, if we work to get people off of the gov. teat they could be eliminated saving us trillions of dollars.

I say "cut spending across the board" to which you reply with "but what about military spending, you people always want to start wars that aren't paid for" when in reality the Tea Party is for pulling our troops back home and using the money we do spend to protect our borders.

I say "close our borders to all illegal aliens" to which you say "but illegal immigration is loved by Republican business owners" which is true but those are Republicans and I support going after anyone who hires an illegal as much as I want to go after the illegals themselves.

You see I'm tired of explaining myself to people who aren't interested in hearing or even trying to understand my standpoint but instead just want to throw out Maddow talking points that we've all heard before. At the end of the day I'm in the Tea Party because there's no better option and most people hate the Tea Party out of fear which is understandable. If I were comfy and scared of change which might mean work and compromise I would fear the Tea Party too.

You know, when people are completely unable to think for themselves it is so easy and comforting to see everything in a black-white, left-right prism. It's just so much easier then learning facts and actually understanding what is going on.

You need to heed your own advice. The far left groups ALONG WITH OBAMA rabble roused the Egyptian people into chaos and revolution. They are working side by side with the Islamists to achieve the overthrow of Capitalism and the demise of Israel and the West.

I'm not so naive to believe that every overthrow of a government is "democracy" in action. Obviously, YMMV.

This appears to be a pre-election power grab stirred by forces outside of Egypt. If you will recall elections are only a few months away. Were there a revolution only a few months prior to the November 2012 elections to oust Obama would you call that democracy? Really?

Did democracy scare Obama when the Honduran dictator was overthrown?

Obama: Honduras Coup "Not Legal" - CBS News

In Obama's own words:
Quote:
"It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition rather than democratic elections,"
How is this different than what is happening in Egypt? This transfer of power does not follow the Egyptian Constitution, how is it legal in Obama's eyes?

Did democracy scare Obama when the youth of Iran took to the streets calling for the ouster of Ahmadinajad in Iran? He certainly failed to support the people hungering for change there didn't he!

Does consistency in foreign policy when addressing democracy scare the radical left? Or, is it only democracy when a Marxist or radical theocratic dictator is either already in power or placed into power?
