I don't know. Seems like when people get high they tend to like to sit around (or lay around) instead of be out and about driving from place to place. It's kind of like a cocooning effect ... sit around, eat, laugh, listen to music. It makes people lazy.
I don't get high. I've never smoked marijuana or any other sort of drugs and won't ever do them. They get you nowhere in life.
But I do think marijuana should be legal however, from what I've read, marijuana seems to be safer than cigarettes even. Legalizing it would bring huge profits for our country. But even still, I wouldn't smoke it.
I really have no problem with people that use pot..but...unlike alcohol, which you can enjoy moderately without getting buzzed.. pot is entirely different. You are using it exclusively to get stoned.
Pot was an acceptable drug in all levels of society for many decades until it became illegal in the 30s. I have no problem with it being legal again but, lets face it, if you intend to use it you intend to get screwed up.
Alcohol for all its "evilness" can be used as a beverage without getting you drunk. Make pot
llegal and we will watch a lot more people stoned on the roads.
I don't understand this logic at all. How can it just be a beverage without getting you drunk? Is the person immune to the effects of alcohol? Do they have a magic resistance to toxicity? Alcohol makes you drunk. It doesn't matter what your intent is. Alcohol has alcohol in it. It is a toxin that affects brain chemistry, period. Pot has THC. It is a chemical that affects brain chemistry. Any differences are how much you ingest, not whether one gets you stoned or not. They both do.
While I don't condone either, it is interesting to note that pot is an herb with fairly benign psychotropic properties. People who smoke pot don't "black out" and rarely get belligerent. It is almost impossible to O.D. on it and one would safely fall asleep before doing any lasting damage. Alcohol is a poison. It is a toxic substance that damages the liver. That is why when we drink too much, we puke and potentially die. Our bodies are trying to rid the toxin. Why is it legal? There is a terrible hypocracy and denial about the dangers of alcohol. Pot-o-phobia is somewhat misguided in light of our alcoholic culture.

That all depends on your body chemistry; I get buzzed from half a glass of wine. Yeah, I'm a cheap date, what can I say?
In contrast, I once upon a time used pot to relax before bed. One toke, put out the joint, and I could lie down and go to sleep with no ill effects and no medicine hangover. Haven't done that in years, but I still remember it well, and would continue the practice were it legal.
