Religious groups are free to define marriage however they see fit. The problem is that they also want to define civil marriage contracts along those same religious lines (thereby denying access to the legal rights of civil law to those who don't adhere to those religious beliefs).
Oh noes!!! Hawaii is simply gonna disintegrate and fall into the fiery lavas of hell, just like Massachusetts, Iowa, Vermont, and....oh wait, those states are still around and doing fine. never mind.

Also those states most be doing something right...they all rank high on quality of life, education, low divorce rates, etc.....

Seriously, it seems like every time you don't think some of the posts here on CD can't get any nuttier someone proves you wrong. The saddest thing is I have made a comment similar to this multiple times, and time and time again the insanity level goes further and further off the charts.
Everything would be fine if they left the WORD "Marriage" to heterosexuals.
actually this nation would be fine if we just abolished 'Marriage" from all of our legal documents and laws.
EVERYONE gets a civil union.
Since the religious zealots wants to protect the meaning of a word, then they can hold a "marriage" which will carry no legal or federally recognized status.
Remove all reference to Marriage from our law, create only Civil Unions and be done with it.
I am fine with civil unions being legal, and them having all the same rights/bennies as marriage
but dont REdefine marriage
