Bingo! Well said.
You hit the nail on the head.
People use to come to our country and assimilate.
They accepted our culture. .
Can you please provide for me some examples of clearly defined American Culture????

I put the same questions to you as I have to the above poster.
Also, here are two replied I put in the previous "multiculturalism has failed" threads when Cameron made his comments... Both posts contain comments relevant to this topic as well.

Multiculturalism (as a topic, theory, idea, etc) is simply just another needle pricking the fingers to distract masses. Ultimately, it's a distraction to keep your mind occupied - before for or against it is for the most part totally irrelevant to those in positions of power, influence, etc. In the world that's been constructed, is being renovated before our eyes, and will be continually modified races, nations, culture, religion, sexual orientation, etc - all aspects of multiculturalism themselves - will be seen as null, void, primitive, etc, and be a market for those in the positions of affluence to exploit each aspect economically.
*edit*
It find it entertaining Cameron said this at a speech in Munich - maybe he's kissing Merkel's ass? LOL.

(referring to Canada and the US)
Well, essentially I believe that can be chalked up to the very social make up and identity of both nations. Realistically both nations have been a tapestry of different ethnic make up's since their very colonial beginnings. I think that the multi-ethnic (though still overwhelmingly caucasian) society really polarized itself and was a striking difference from the isolated racial mindset that became Europe. The polarizing effect being that so many ethnic groups deprived the United States of a lone all unifying identity - the complete opposite of Europe where each individual people have a defined territory, history, culture, etc, and so on, and in very tight spaces.
The U.S. and Canada are really unique in that aspect. Their lack of a truly cohesive ethnic identity put them on a different course than europe in a social sense.
I think, by and large - and i'm sure anyone who's aware of this subject might agree or at least hear what i'm saying and understand - that's the reason America is such a desperate nation when it comes to visual representation. There's an overwhelming desire (especially amongst conservatives - which is natural enough) to find cultural elements that are "American" by itself. How often throughout the day do we hear the vague, bland, endless descriptions of this or that being American. There's a desperation because people (by and large - not all) have become something just a touch above the bovine. The herd, etc.
America has never really had a unified culture.
Certain nations in Europe HAD a culture - though in most situations that culture has been erased by the social and economic elite as it posed a threat to their hegemony. In this day and age (and the UK, the Royal Family, and other Royals in Europe are a PERFECT example) the connection to traditions of the past is really kept at a bare minimum to appease what's left of those generations. Steadily, given the nature of this world we've living in, those customs, traditions, etc, will disappear all together, forgotten, trampled upon, etc, and it would prove so much worthwhile then for the common mass to work together in disposing of, exposing, or rebelling against the real enemy of common good - exploiters of a reasonable, healthy human existence.
ALSO - That fanciful white power wet dream that America will dissolve into some RAHOWA / race war is ridiculous and so far away from reality it shouldn't even hold weight in an argument. Thomas Chittum wrote a good book, but that doesn't make it the blueprint for whatever is going to happen in the United States. There's too many unforeseeable events that can occur between now and 2030, 2040, 2050, or whatever year it is white "nationalists" are thinking the RAHOWA (Racial Holy War) will start this year...
It's a lot more successful in the U.S. than it's been in most of Europe. Most immigrants to the U.S. - even the ones that some people don't like - consider themselves to be Americans, which is different from the way many immigrants feel in Europe.
We don't have the large population of muslim's like they do in europe.
The problem with multiculturalism is that is assumes that everyone is welcoming and open to learn more about a foreign culture. You have a lot of people who feel threatened by the presence of something that is different from their culture. There are some cultures that are vastly differ from an indigenous culture, it's really impossible for multiculturalism to prosper unless the majority of a society is open to learn more about a culture. However, a multiethnic society is possible. Just look at the USA for instance.
We don't have the large population of muslim's like they do in europe.
Sarcasm aside, that is a great point you just made.
The problems they have over in europe are more prevalent than here in the states, If there ever is a boom in population of muslims here in the US then yes, we will see some sort of civil war for sure. The Christian population will not stand for an islamic uprising. Its not just because their culturally different that sets them apart but also religiously.
I've seen how muslims have bled the socialist system dry, both muslims and europeans have played their part in why it has concluded the way it has, America should learn from that.
To be fair, i do believe its ok to be who you want to be, a proud Asian, Black, Hispanic etc etc as long you obey the laws. It may not be perfect (no one system is) but there is still better than any other.
No, i dont believe it has failed just yet, But we are bordering it.
I agree. Look what multiculturalism brought Yugoslavia, when two totally different people tried to co-exist together. It seems like much of Europe, especially the northern and central countries, are having trouble feeling comfortable around lots of Muslims as well, in addition to different Europeans moving around into other countries.
Actually, it was three different peoples in Yugoslavia ..... Catholic Croatians and Slovenes, Muslim Bosnians and Orthodox Serbs. The Serbs didn't actually turn on the Muslims until after they had started fighting the Croatians ... and effectively lost.
In the West of Scotland there is also an integration issue. But not with Muslims but between catholics of Irish origin and the native Protestants. And that is still the cause of sectarian tensions. And then we had the anti-jewish pogroms in the 19th century and the murder of millions of jews in the second world war.
So, you can blame the Muslims all you want but they are merely the latest to feel the wrath of European intolerance. They are not, however, the cause of it. The cause is, as ever, religion and the intolerance that goes with it.
Can you please provide for me some examples of clearly defined American Culture?
I feel sorry for you.
