Certainly no group of people who are against abortion, who then in turn MUST love children so much that they would NEVER accept children not being covered by some form of healthcare insurance. Right?

IMHO, children from birth to at least 18 should be covered.

I was sick for a very long time, thats how I know. The sicker you become the less able you are to look after yourself. Simple. And yes almost everyone will have a major illness at some point.

How much would say treatment cost for a heart attack hmm? far beyond what the average person can afford, that's why the cost needs to be spread. Private insurance is a scam.

Thats a bunch of BS, most people don't have life threatening illnesses. If they choose to spend their money on tvs, computers, etc and not on insurance, then they should have to fend for themselves.

Most people will become seriously incapacitated at some point in their lives, that's a matter of fact. I spent 7 years basically unable to do anything for myself after getting M.E. at 19. As a result I would be uninsurable. Like I said private medical insurance is a scam.

No, they're supposed to have insurance to pay for it. Insurance is not a scam, I have had it my entire life and have had no problems I couldn't work out.

You are speaking from personal experience with being sick and cannot be objective about the subject, obviously. You also live in a country with a crappy healthcare system, again, you cannot be objective.

Nice strawman. Now, where's my match?

You are an exception. You cannot generalize your experience to every person on the planet. What is ME anyway?

Of course it is- the motive a private insurance company is to get as much money as possible from you and pay out as little as possible! My sister is an insurance broker this is exactly what she says.

I have insurance- it's called national insurance apart from goverment not taking chunks out of my payments for profit and denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions what's the difference? The NHS works fine btw (except for dentistry) don't believe the c**p you hear on right wing US tv.

Btw my younger sister spent most of her life with a condition called neurofibromatosis- basically it causes tumors to grow on the nerve endings. The cost of treating her to my family would have run into the millions over her life (13 years) if we'd had to go private.

Sorry that happened to ou, but that still doesn't mean I shoud pay the bill. Most people are not in a life long illness. That is what savings account are for...why not get catastropic insurance? People can get insurance with preconditions, it is simply they will have to pay more for their rates b/c they are a higher risk....

Sorry 80-90% people will get a serious illness in their lives- i'm not the exception at all. When you get this sick just hope your insurer decides not to cancel your policy.

ME Research UK — What is ME?

despite what it says here the cause of M.E. is well known amongst specialists- it's basically post polio syndrome without paralysis.
