The fair tax does not need deductions as it is not a tax on income. If you read the fair tax web site you will see all federal taxes are eliminated. That is all of them as well as gas SS FICA and income so everyone would have more money.
The problem right now is 50% of the population pays no taxes. So they have nothing invested in this country. So need an army of IRS agents to make sure that the other 50% can be milked dry.

I did the little test wrong...

I would have to know a lot more about this.

Probably best to reign in spending (drastically), before replacing the tax code with a different scheme that politicians will just work around anyway.
