Here is how we can lower US health care costs to the level of our Canadian friends;

1. Get rid of some doctors. Canada has 10% less doctors per thousand people. Less doctors equals less cost.

2. Lower crime. The US has much higher violent crime rates and crime increases the need for health care. Lower crime rate means lower health costs.

3. Sell some of our medical equipment. The US has much more medical equipment per million people. For example, the US has 19.5 MRI scanners per million and Canada has 4.6. CT scanners; US has 29.5 per million and Canada has 10.3. Less money spent on medical equipment means less cost of health care.

4. Buy all our drugs in Canada. Lower cost of drugs means lower cost health care.

5. Limit malpractice awards. US malpractice costs are almost double those in Canada. Less malpractice awards means lower health care costs.

6. Change our demographics to match Canada. Lower the number of blacks and Hispanics and increase the number of Asians. This could have a dramatic impact on the incidence of cancer. Less cancer means lower health care costs.

7. Put our kids on a diet. The US has almost double (30.6%) of obese children as Canada (14.3%). Less obese kids means lower health care costs.

So, it’s quite easy to lower US health care costs to the level of Canada’s. Of course we would have to suffer the from the results of these actions

e also need to find a nation that will poay for 70% of medical and drug research like cannda does with US while setting price we pay and having a law that alows us to mnaufacture the drugs if they don't sell it at price we want. US is paying for alot of things for others just as insured subsidise the uninsured and government medicare and medicaidby apying more because governamnt can set the price they pay. I the end we are looking at less research i the future likely to contol cost and less procedures on demand.
