You can listen to these B.S. right wing story lines about how taxing the rich is so awful, or you can start sticking up for your family....It's your choice.

no it would not, the biggest item the USA could do right now to lower the deficit is to lower the budget and get rid of all the useless goverment employees from alot of useless goverment departments.

No minimum wage is what led to the French revolution. The fed is trying for inflation. The reason that they aren't having much success is that we have more debt as a nation that we can service with the wage structure the way it is. We need more tax base, more un-leveraged income. With this we can have inflation with the feds printing press. The big banks are in deep trouble with non performing assets. What they need is for housing prices to go above the top of the last bubble. and they need them to stay there. In order to support housing prices that high we need more income. If we push the minimum wage to the average hourly wage then this should just about get the wage increase that we need.

if you want a loaf of bread to be $20

pushing the minimum wage up to 10 or 20 or 30 will only raise the costs of things...it wil do nothing to the debt

you cant inflate you way out of this debt

making our money worthless is a big mistake

You haven’t questioned your tax basis with the county? I know people who have doesn’t it three times in the last 4 years.

I sure wish they would have done this right back in 78. Property taxes should be high on unimproved land and lower on developed land.

Yes, I did... the first time I was able to get a 20% reduction and the next year it only regained a little. By the way, the county charges a fee to appeal.

Last year, I filed for an informal review and provided 26 comparables to support my claim... big mistake... county got back to me a few days after the deadline for the formal appeal and denied my claim and the value is now within 7k of what I paid... they said they are under no obligation to do anything...

I'm back to $384 a square foot for a 1957 home and my neighbors just paid $232...

Seems today, you have to be an expert at everything to stand a chance.... why they would drop my assessment only to bounce it back the next year is the dirty little secret... seems the only way is to threaten to go to the mat and demand a formal hearing or they will just ignore you...

Lesson learned.... so much for my Prop 13 protection from being a 5 year property owner... makes me want to sell and buy again in the neighborhood just to get low taxes like all the new folks that recently bought in the neighborhood.

Money bags....ha, ha whatever, crybaby...but until that happens, get over it, 250K is not rich.....I live in the NE and that is not a lavish lifestyle. Don't worry, people like me will fight back the leaches who are looking for handouts off others. The same who want the free lunch. The ones who want free services, but don't want to work for it....That sounds like you...guess you would rather go into a restaurant and ask someone else to pay for you meal, simply becasue they make more. To me, this is as much about finances as it is about principle. I, like many people worked to hard to get this point to freely turn over hard earned dollars to people who dont deserve it. Every social cause is not a right. Its that simple....so go back to rock you climbed out from...

Why don't you ask some of the 40%+ people who don't pay income taxes to chip in....sure you won't respond to this point....just deflect it away...

You are correct it will only raise the cost of things. And that includes houses. The bad debt from those houses is going to be a drag on the economy for a very long time. Our banking system is in deep trouble.

$7trillion was printed over the last 10 years. That was printed by foreign central banks and used to buy US personal and corporate debt. That is what financed the trade deficit for so long. Printed money. Our money is already worthless.

Very well said and I agree!!

I am so tired of working hard and being told I am in the 'rich' bracket and need to pay more taxes to fund the lazy people whom expect the government to hand out entitlements to them instead of making them work for what they want.

That sucks, your county sounds like a bunch of (bleep) I wonder if you can find out if they are this way with everyone or just selectivly? I am sure the brother-in -law of the mayor got his lowered.

You should try and get a local reporter on the case, I bet if enough people complain, they will change.
