House blocks funding for health care law - On Politics: Covering the US Congress, Governors, and the 2012 Election - USATODAY.com

Quote:
The GOP-led House voted today to block funding to implement the nation's health care law.

Specifically, the House voted to prohibit any funds be used by the Internal Revenue Service to carry out the law's mandate that Americans buy health insurance. The individual mandate, one of the law's key tenets, has been struck down by federal courts.
Uh, I would beg to differ - the law has been ruled VOID.

Nope, it had been shot down twice and upheld twice. It would be just as valid to say the law has been ruled LEGAL. In practice, the jury is still out.

Once again, a defunding that is going nowhere. I guess house Repugs could care less about the unemployed as long as they get to defund everything. Here's a clue, how about defunding the entire house and senate. What's the chances of that happening?

Sorry, that's not how the system works. Not like a baseball game.

All it takes is for ONE judge to rule it unconstitutional.

But...let me see, didn't it only take ONE judge to rule DADT unconstitutional for the Left to declare it so?

Of course not. Who's going to force the GOP to put it back in?

As for the defunding craze, do you think the House expects to get any bills passed, because at this point it looks very doubtful they can pass anything, enjoy.

Incorrect, again. The judge in the state suit threw the WHOLE LAW out, because the dems neglected to include a severability clause in the law.

It was ruled VOID.

How will obama force the GOP to put in obamacare funding?
