CBO: Obamacare Repeal Would Save $1.4 Trillion - By Andrew Stiles - The Corner - National Review Online (http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/260153/cbo-obamacare-repeal-would-save-1-trillion-andrew-stiles - broken link)

Quote:
By repealing those coverage provisions of PPACA and the Reconciliation Act, over the 2012-2021 period H.R. 2 would yield gross savings of $1,390 billion and net savings (after accounting for the offsets just mentioned) of $1,042 billion.
Yes, we all knew if you take out all the "assumptions" CBO had to consider from the deceitful dems, if you take out the budget gimmicks and trickery, the true numbers would come out.

I want to see obama argue that he must veto the CR, I want to see him explain how the law, ruled unconstitutional, should go forward.

It (repeal) will also save bankrupt states BILLIONS from having to expand Medicaid... you know, that unfunded federal mandate put into Obamacare.

Our insurance premiums have gone way up as a result of Obama's "Affordable Health Care Bill".

Some insurance companies have gotten out of certain places and/or stopped offering certain types of insurance....something I believe Obama wanted to happen eventually anyhow.

Doctors who began building clinics and specialty care centers quit construction.

The IRS hired 16,500 new agents to police it. And this was the largest tax code change for decades.

Not much good has come from it and the things that are good could have been done by just a few tweaks in regulations without this massive overhaul.

Let's dump this thing, save the cash, and then do those tweaks people don't object to.

Did any of you read the whole letter rather than that one cherry picked paragraph?

The bottom line of the letter was this:

Quote:
H.R. 2 (the repeal of Obamacare) would, on net, increase federal deficits over the next decade because the net savings from eliminating the coverage provisions would be more than offset by the combination of other spending increases and revenue reductions.

In total, CBO and JCT estimate that H.R. 2 would reduce outlays by about $604 billion and reduce revenues by about $813 billion over the 2012-2021 period.
Emphasis added.

Did you read the whole thing? The difference is in the time frame - 2012-2022 repeal would save $1.4 Trillion.

Wrong. That's not what it says. That would be a partial repeal of only the coverage provisions. Not a repeal of the whole act.

What? You mean because the numbers are in your favor suddenly you feel that everything the CBO says is "true"?

Let me rephrase, Casper the original assertion is precisely correct and fully clarifies the truth about Obamacare. How can you not see that?
